Split bathroom question

Our 2011 Cougar High Country has a split bathroom. The shower has a skylight that lets in the early morning light in the bedroom area.

Any easy solutions to avoid that?

We, or should I say my wife, fashioned an "inside cover" for it by velcroing a piece of fabric which just happened to have a shiny, reflective coating on one side to the underside of the skylight. It can be "unzipped" when showering or when it is cloudy. By using Velcro, it can be left partially open or completely closed. Works well for us.

While inspecting the roof this spring, I decided to use the buffer and polish the plastic skylight.....great idea but the sun shining in made it hot inside the bathroom. Our bathroom if you can call it that is mid ship on the curb side. There is no AC vent in the bathroom. I went to the auto parts store and purchased a roll up shade for the side windows on cars. I hadn't seen one in years. Anyways, it doesn't keep all the light out (which is fine as its not bothering anyone) and it seems to be cooler. Mine is black mesh, but I'm sure someone makes darker ones...I would have preferred darker, but bought what was available to see if it would work.

We just cut a piece of soft foam that fits in the skylight and pulls out easily when not needed.

My Cougar has two skylights, one in the shower and one in the kitchen. The kitchen has a sliding shade similar to the windows but the heat from the sun was still noticeable. I removed the interior trim from both skylights and cut a piece of Reflectix insulation (http://www.homedepot.com/p/Reflectix-24-in-x-25-ft-Staple-Tab-Insulation-ST24025/100020855?N=bedf#.UjhkUj_-uHc) to fit inside and put the trim back on. I still get a little light but the heat is almost eliminated. I also use this insulation on the windows by slipping it under the shades when in storage or very hot days. It is basically bubble wrap with foil on both sides.

We have one of these for each of our vents, and they're great. Keeps the place darker, cooler in the heat, and warmer in the cold. Can't go wrong for that price. :)
