Old Soul having problems with TV reception/cable

Hello all!
I'm new here and a first time owner of a travel trailer. My husband and I bought a 2010 Passport Express Ultra Lite 199ML. We recently went to a glampground, that's right, glampground. ( glamorous camping ) and they had cable hook up available for our TV. We didn't have a cable wire so we went into town and bought one. We hooked it up to the cable from the glampground to the cable on the outside of our camper. It didn't work. Anyone out there know why?

Did you ensure:
* TV booster behind TV mounted on the wall is OFF. (used for air antenna only)
* you went to menu and did a "search" and "scan" for cable channels.

It does NOT work automatically when you hook up a cable. :)

Out back Mel has it right. You absolutely have to do those two things for cable TV to work.
