Still relatively new to the forum & figuring out how to navigate it. Have most if it down, but am wondering why my private messages show up in my inbox but the ones I have sent are not in my sent folder.

Patrick -
PM's may be stored in two different ways: 1) in a Standard Folder (forum default) OR 2) you can store them in Custom Folders - ones which you create yourself.

Not sure how you selected your storage options but you can ........

Go into the Edit Folders option (left-hand side) of the PM. Click on it. You can see how your folders are being stored and you might have to check or uncheck one of the boxes. You can create new folders if you want - just click on the appropriate box.

Povo,

In addition to Festus2's advice, if you want to always save a copy of your sent messages, you need to do the following:

In the blue line across the top of every forum page, select User CP. then scroll down the left side to Settings and Options. Click on Edit Options, and scroll down the window that opens to Messages and Notifications. In the very bottom of that section you will find an option: "Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent Items folder by default"

Click on that and then scroll to the bottom of the page and select Save Changes.

This should then start saving a copy of every sent message to your sent messages folder.

It is not normally selected because members are only allowed to have 50 messages in their Private Message Box. It doesn't take long to fill the PM box if you're saving all of your received and sent messages.

When your mailbox gets close to full, you can either delete messages or save them to your computer hard drive as a file. Either way works depending on what you choose to do. If your mailbox becomes full (50 mesages) you will no longer be able to recieve messages, so it would be advisable to stay on top of the number if you're getting close.

Hope this helps.
