We just acquired a 316RL and since we do a lot of boon docking I thought it would be a good idea to invest in a "power monitor" so I can keep my batteries in good shape and know when to turn on the genny to give them a boost. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced unit that I could install? Also please point me to any threads discussing these. I have looked but not found much.

If you use the forum search feature you will find several mods that folks have done to install "volt meters" to there trailers. One just recently is HERE (http://www.keystonerv.org/forums/showthread.php?t=12953&highlight=volt+meter).

It's not a bad idea to get a gauge. I have never had one and run the genny each night at dinner to charge up. Maybe acouple hours to about 4 hours. Wait afew minutes after it's off and check the panel for the battery level. If it's hot, the genny comes on for A/C but not here much.
