How to add another gas hook-up at outside kitchen ?

I have a 2013 Springdale 294BHSSR and it has a gas connection for the stove on the outside kitchen.

I want to add another gas connection so I can use a grill at the same time.

I can use the grill now as it is, but then I can't use the stove.

Any idea where I could get the right connector ? I can do the steel piping myself (tee and elbows) but I don't know where to get the actual connector from.

Any help would be appreciated.

I know camping world sells a female quick connect fitting with npt threads and shut off valve for around $40. You would then need to purchase and install T fitting and a then 3 nipples and elbow to branch off of hard piping before existing stove quick connect. Also make sure you use black iron fittings and dope/tape that is rated for propane.

I search on line to find the parts and used a T to extend the existing quick connect to a new quick connect and a hose to go to the grill. Works great for us.

Fairview makes the fittings used by many LP gas grills and campers. They supply the quick disconnect couplings with the shut valve built in.
1/4" coupling/valve QD-GMRVC4-4F, and the coupling w/o the valve is QD-GMC4-4F, and the male insert is QD-GMRVN4-4M, and dust cap QD-GMDP-4.

What i ran into is that the gas grill was double regulated when using the quick connect for the outside kitchen stove. I used Camco part#57274 $12.00 from amazon. Works like a charm..

I'm looking to add a second quick connect port so I can operate the grill and outside kitchen burners at the same time.
I got the Camco part listed above, online, and then got some black pipe (T and some nipples-all 1/2"). However, my factory quick connect at the outside kitchen has a fitting (might be called a reducer or flare??) that transitions from the 1/2" black pipe to the quick connect and I could not find it in the store. It is 1/2" female on one end, and the other end is around 1/4" or 3/8" male which goes into the quick connect. The local hardware store that would have had someone to actually help me was closed today (as was the my propane guy), so I was planning to stop there early in the week. Before I go chasing it all over town, does anyone know what that part would be called and if it should be in a hardware store?

Sorry, don't know the name but if you search online you might find it, when I made my T to come off the quick connect to make it 2 quick connects, I looked on line and pieced everything together. Good luck, it is so nice to have both the stove and grill run at the same time.

When I looked at the gas sticky before, I didn't catch anything about that fitting, but I will look again. I've searched the forum for other threads on adding quick connects but never could find anyone mentioning that fitting or transition. I also looked online at the same places I saw the QC fittings, but I wasn't able to find it, and I wanted it too soon to allow delivery if I did find the exact one.

Good news is that I think my local propane guy set me up with a proper replacement (see photo) Took two fittings to do it, but should work. Got the proper paste to seal as well. I have soapy water to check for leaks.
From right to left, 1/2"x1/2" female coupler, 1/2" male x 1/4" female bushing, 1/4"x1/4" nipple, and QC. Above is the fitting from the original. The propane guy actually noticed that original fitting was cracked down clear to the bottom of the threads which I would say is from the factory tightening??? I only removed it last week and had never touched it before. So I had to buy two sets of the fittings. In hindsight, guess I didn't need to buy the brass couplers cause I can just thread the bushing right into the T, but at the time I was juggling the kids and wanted to get out before they broke something in the store :)

I made due with one quick connect last year, but there were too many times where I wanted to run both the cook top on the outside kitchen and the grill at the same time, or I was climbing under the open kitchen slide to swap hoses 3 or 4 times a weekend. So I hope to get it connected for this coming weekend to try it out.

Wouldn't the easiest way to add a second QD fitting be to remove the current one, buy another just like it, add a 1/2" TEE where it was, install the old one on a 1" nipple at the end of the TEE, add a 2" nipple at the center of the TEE, on that nipple install a 1/2" elbow, on the end of the elbow add a 2" nipple and on that nipple add the other QD fitting? That way they would be about 2" apart. If you wanted them slightly further apart, just add a longer nipple at the center of the TEE. Be sure to use black iron pipe, not regular galvanized pipe.

If anyone has their original single quick connect propane modified to operate both the stove and an additional grill...could you post pics of your Mod...when it comes to pipe connections..pictures say a thousand words!

My Dealer gave me a grill with my new 2920BH but it does not have the bumper mounted port..only the one for the kitchen stove..so I have a brand new grill and can't use it.

I simply T'd off of the factory propane line for the outside kitchen stove, then ran it down a few feet where it is convenient location for the grill quick connect. I then mounted the pipe to the frame with a pipe clamp and a self tapping screw. I bought a kit from Lowes for converting a stick and brick propane grill to natural gas. It came with the valve, quick connect fitting and low pressure 10' hose. I then removed the regulator from my Weber Q200 grill and threaded the end of the 10' hose into the Weber control valve with a reducer bushing and 1/4" nipple. Works Great.

"Stick and brick" is a nickname in the rv forums for a house. The hose kit I bought was designed for converting a house patio grill to feed off of the natural gas supply of a house.

Btw, no biggie getting the pics. I was under the trailer yesterday anyway greasing the wheel bearings and adjusting the brakes.

I meant to get back here and post these pics but got lazy. Hope they help. My biggest issue was getting from 1/2" gas pipe to the 1/4" nipple on the quick connect. My local propane guy hoooked me up with a couple brass fittings to get me there. I've used it to run the grill and outdoor stovetop at the same time, and had no gas flow issues. Remember to use black gas pipe only, and the proper teflon paste, not white tape. Spray with water/soap mix to check for leaks.

Finally got around to adding my 2nd gas hook up. With great advice from fellow forum writers, I managed to get er done and make it look professional.

Total time from start to finish was about an hour.

Now I can run my stove and grill at the same time.

Hope this helps others.

P.S. Make sure you buy 1/2 pipe...I made the mistake of not looking close enough and assuming it was 3/4 like in a house...needless to say..too many trips to the hardware store. :o

Your mod looks good, I'm sure you'll enjoy the new hookup. You might want to find one of the yellow rubber plugs (or something similar) to protect your new connector. If you get mud/dirt in the fitting, it could cause a leak or worse yet, damage the control valve on your grill. There's a lot of dirt/dust/mud being slung around under your RV when being towed. Keeping the inside of that connector clean is important.
