LED lights - stick on or plug in?

Looking at LED replacement bulbs for standard ceiling lights. Which is better, the panels that plug directly into the socket or the "sticky" panels with connector on wire?

We just purchased the 24 5050 flat panel with the wire. They are really bright and we plan on getting more. Hope this helps

I was thinking about them for the overhead lights. Would they be too bright for overhead reading lights, such as above the bed, chairs or sofa, or would fewer LEDs be better there?

I think they are to bright for over the bed. I made the mistake of putting one there. I was trying to find a white lens cover but they don't make one. I'll be replacing it one of these days with something alot less bright. They do work great for the rest of the trailer and I used the flat panel with the wire plug in.

I use the 36 LED flat panel for all the overhead double lights (and oven hood). All lights point down, where it's needed, and give good coverage. They're a great amount of light for reading and general living space.

For the bedroom, I installed the 9 LED barrel style bulb. It's dimmer, but we don't read in bed.

If you prefer the standard incandescent glow then be sure to specify LED's in the 2800 to 3100 Kelvin range. Many LED's are in the high 4000 - 5000 Kelvin range and they produce the harsh bright white (almost blueish) light.

Also if you buy LED's that are unregulated you may start getting interference with your radio and/or TV.
