Hi all! My hubby and I are upgrading/downsizing from a 2008 Hy-Line Pinecreek 31BH TT to a 2013 Montana Mountaineer 29RLT beginning of August. We're waiting for the Undermount Reese Elite Series 18K slider to come in (been on BO for a couple of weeks, now...it's OEM on the new Ford Super Duties). Loved our TT, but can't wait to get in our 5ver!"bouncey: We plan on working from the road part of the year from it...would love any advice from you all. Love the layout, just hope it will be big enough...looks like most of you have longer coaches!

:wlcm: to the forum from one of those amongst us who doesn't have a "longer coach". Let us know how that hitch works out -- if it makes a big difference in taking things in and out of the truck bed.

Good Morning HppyCmprs and :wlcm: to the forum. You say that you're waiting for the Reese Elite 18K hitch. Apparently it's to fit the new Ford underbed fifth wheel prep kit? If so, and if you're inclined to save about $1200, Reese also makes an adapter plate that fits the Ford option. It's available at most RV hitch shops that carry Reese components and also online at various sources. It is the Reese 30156 Rail Kit Mounting Adapter. It allows you to adapt any conventional fifth wheel hitch to the Ford option without having to buy the expensive hitch.

I bought my adapter plate at Amazon.com for less than $300 and used my existing fifth wheel hitch.

I bring this up only as an option to consider if your hitch is on back order and not available.

Again, welcome to the forum and good luck with your new "smaller upgrade" :)

Thanks, John! I will pass on your info to the hubby... We have a 2008 F-350 and want to install the undermount hitch (I'm not hitch informed;) enough to know if your suggestion will work for us) to be able to still use the truck bed.

I have the Ford installed underbed mount hitch package (the same as the Reese underbed hitch mount). When I remove the "in bed" hitch adapter and my existing fifth wheel hitch, my bed is completely clear. The only thing that is visible is the 4 holes where the "pugs" go through to attach the hitch to the underbed mount. It's a neat system and I would have liked to get the Reese pro elite hitch, but at $1400 - $2100 for the hitch alone, I opted to save the bucks and bought the adapter to use with my existing fifth wheel Curt hitch. Functionally, it tows just like it did with bed rails in the truck, and when I take it out, I've got the entire bed clear to slide in most anything that will fit. ie: No bedrails to deal with !!!!!

Well, we still haven't picked up our 5er yet, as it seems the Reese hitch is still on back order(til mid-Sept.). So now onto PlanB...since we have to install the hitch and rails, we are going with a undermount set-up from Pull Right. Hopefully, by this time next week, we will be trying out the new trailer...patience is not my strong suit"bouncey:!

I know exactly what you mean by patience LOL We finally picked our new fifth wheel up today. Dragged it home and started modifying/loading it. Tomorrow should be near the end of the mods. Then it's load the fridge and head somewhere ... ANYWHERE !!!!! (just as long as it's quiet and no phone service :)

Well, it's finally here! Just picked it up last night! Hubby brought it home and had to leave on a business trip an hour later! So I'm heading out this morn to make it ours! Camping in the driveway is on the agenda for the weekend "bouncey:!
