2013 Laredo dining room table.

Good morning hope all is well! I have a question for you fellas if you dont mind. My wife and i currently just purchased a 2013 laredo 266RL, and love it.... for the most part. There are of course the few little pet peeves with any campers. One of which that drives me nuts is the dining room table, you would think with a 40,000$ they could have put some more thought into making it more stable. If i lean on it at all it feels like it is going to rip out of the slide. So my question is does anyone know what material is beneath the carpet in this slides? is it a sheet of plywood? I think to remedy this problem iam going to be making a wider base out of oak plywood, router the corners and stain it the dark walnut color of the camper and fasten that to the slide with screws, and then in turn fasten the table to this wider base, also i was thinking of taking the table top off, and adding a section of plywood to the top of the pedestal and then fastening the table top to that. Its definatly times like these that i miss my triple E topaz high quality construction.... you could have sex on that table top! I just find it fascinating how little workmanship and horribly cheap materials go into these campers now a days and what they expect for a price. Ive added a picture for your viewing, so you can see how lack luster the support is. Ideally it should have two legs i guess

We have a 2011 266rl and at times lament the cheap construction in the attempt to make it lighter I think. The outside panel corners don't really secure to anything so the screws are always coming out. The other day I noticed the floor near the kitchen counter seem to give quite a bit so I also wonder what is beneath there.
We had our table moved because it was centered with the window and there was not enough space to sit on the side by the slide end. The dealer did it because he said you have to be careful that you don't pull out an entire thread (down the length) in the carpet with the screws. We have had any problems with the table since they took care of it for us.

I agree with the cheesy table. If yours is the one with 2 pedestals as mine I was able to make mine a little more stable by relocating the pedestals outward a few inches toward the ends of the table. I then took the posts to my bench vise and very slightly flattened them so they fit tighter in the bases.
As far as the slide floor, the subject floor consists of no thicker than 1/2 plywood. Be careful when driving in screws any longer then original ones as there is nothing below the plywood ide floor. If longer screws penetrate through the bottom of plywood, the tip of the screws may damage the linoleum or carpet on main floor when moving then slide in.

While your floor may be different, our Cougar has particle board/strand or fiber board (whatever you want to call it) but it is not plywood. You need to be careful about using screws that are too long to avoid them protruding through and acting as a gouge when the slide floor moves in and out.
The main floor is made of the same substance but is 5/8" thick.

I got the bed for that. But will say this We leave 2 chairs home never use them but when needed have the out side table that is bigger and next to the camper. Our table is used to read maps, the paper, and coffee on rainy days.Bushman:D
