Passport 199ml Window Shade

I asked this question under a different title and received many helpful answers, but none from anyone with my specific model--a 2010 Passport ML. There is no way to raise the shade over the window in the slideout which makes me wonder if this was a design flaw or a factory error. Obviously, the window is needed to provide light and cross ventilation, so the shade must be replaced.
Is there another 2010 Passport ML owner on this forum who can tell me if he/she has the same problem? Does Keystone monitor this forum, or should I call the factory? The one time I did, which was before I drove a thousand miles to the dealer to take delivery (my question was to what size ball hitch the 199ML requires) I was told to call the dealer to ask--which was not very encouraging re factory-customer relationships.

I don't know if this applies to you, but I have a feeling you are experiencing the same problem I did with my slideout's window shade. On the window next to the dinette there is knob that protrudes into the shade assembly and prevents me from raising the shade over it. I brought this to the dealer's attention, and it was fixed by placing L brackets on the lower ends of the lambrequin window treatment, allowing the shade assembly to be pulled about 3/4 inch out from the lower end of the window. This freed up the shade to pass by the window crank knob.

Interesting that there is more than one type of problem with these shades. Mine is not the same as yours was. The window, which is half-screened and designed to open, is covered with a pleated shade that has no cords or mechanism to raise it. The bottom of the shade is attached to a white plastic bar that has threads protruding from each end, and these threads are tied tightly to round pieces of plastic screwed into the wall opposite the ends of the bar. I could untie these, but then the shade would flap loosely--and still could not be raised. I bought the trailer in a state (KY) far from my home (FL) in mid-June and have been traveling ever since. I can't get back to where I purchased it, but hopefully I can find a dealer close to home. Would be nice, though, to find one who has a 2010 model on his lot to compare window treatments.

We have the 199ML (just ordered our Cougar) as well and took delivery of it last Aug. We found the same thing and were extremely frustrated by it. Went to a RV show a few weeks ago...our dealer was there. Mentioned it to him. We checked it out in a 199ML at the show. It actually does work. You grab the bottom/base and kinda give it gentle pressure to push the whole shade up. Works great and we're looking forward to using ours this season.

As Chris199 said, try just pushing them up. Our trailer before this one had day/night shades all the way through. They were a two stage shade. Pull first one down for light filtering, and reach up under the valance and pull top down again and lower section compresses and you have room darkening section. These were very nice,and pretty pricey.
