I finally got rid of that worthless range hood. We had a Fantastic Fan installed in the kitchen to get rid of steam, smoke, etc., because the range hood didn't vent outside. The light was so bad the DW couldn't see what was in the pan.

I simply removed the hood and installed a light, like the other ones in the TT, over the good sized hole for the wires.

The DW loves it! She said that the stove and the microwave are now much more accessible. We plan on installing one or two small shelves for spices, etc., on the wall behind the stove. I scored some points!

The Range hood on my Outback doesn't vent outside either. Way to go, Keystone.. I haven't removed it because it makes a good night light for us and the Yorkies.

Very nice! The only thing we use ours for is the light. Guess that solves that!

Clever. I put a 36 LED sticky in mine to replace the dim bulb. I still haven't given up on the idea on the outside vent mod. If my ceiling vent was closer to the kitchen, I'd consider this mod.

on my 325srx the hood is vented and works well. I can not say the same for the light. I did change it to led that has helped some.
