Fz300 or fz301?

New here as I just found this site. I have been looking at toyhaulers for the last 8 months and have married it down to e fuzion 300 or 301. They both have things we Iike. I haven't seen a 301 in person as they have been hard to find in my area. So figured I would reach out to see if anyone can give some input.

Looked at both myself but ended up with a raptor 300 mp fifth wheel. I believe the biggest difference was the second slide and a little more money. Just depends on the floor plan you like best, the extra weight difference and your tow vehicle and your budget.

We got the 300 not because of the additional cost of the 301, but because to get into the refrigerator the slide would need to be extended each time to open it. No quick popping in the fridge for a drink or snack without opening the slide while on a trip. Also a shorter awning, we had a 25 foot long awning on our last unit and would had missed the longer awing. rnkburg hit it as well, more weight and cost. Above were my deciding factors. Just out of curiosity what do you out in the garage? I have a 4 seat rhino a kids quad and kids dirt bike. After measuring seems like its going to be REALLY tight. To the point I have started looking at other trailers. But we do really like the fuzion.

Our Raptor 384pk has a 14ft garage:Dand 2 awnings on the right side ,Just saying(We carry a golfcart and 2 harleys in it with no problem.)

I was going back and forth between the two also, and ended up going with the 300 because I didnt like the shorter awning on the 301, I thought it took away alot of outside sittng area. I use my Fuzion 300 for BBQ competitions, I keep all my BBQ equipment in the back, I took out the bottom bed and mounted two 4ft SS work tables and use them as my prep surface, so when Im ready to pack up the tables lift up and out of the way for the rest of my stuff.. Good luck with whatever model you go with!!

We have the 301 and love it.I have a Polaris Ranger and haul it in the garage tows great after I figured how to load and how much water to put on board.The DW loves the 2nd slide in the kitchen it makes it so much bigger. The only issues are the small bathroom and that will be the same in the 300 or the 301. When I set the camper up 4 jacks down I still get to much movement I need to work on that.

I had a big 5th wheel before just looking to downsize a bit. This is my old set up. We still have the truck but the trailer is long gone.

Since I do most of my trips in this want to stay with a bumper pull.

How much clearance front and back? What tips do you have for loading it?

The bathroom was a sacrifice we are dealing with in order to get the floor plan we like.

We did Ina a similar floor plan from a mother builder (sandsport 300fsg) that has a 12' garage. But didnt seem to have the same build quality.

Thanks. I do miss it at times. Got good money for the trailer and my parents still use the rig to tow their trailer.

I broke a piece of aluminum and it butts against garage wall.just low enough so the door opens.The piece is as wide as the range and 32 inches back. I mounted 2 wheel chocks to it and when I drive ranger in the wheel chocks stop me and I strap her down. It is so easy now and I don't have to worry about it moving. I will try and take some pics. I also drilled holes and and can tale off the wide chocks and install 2 motorcycle chocks chock. holes are also drilled for my golf cart using the wide chocks. I mount it using the front tie downs. the front center i drilled a 3" hole and welded a piece of round stock right over the tie down and clamp it there. the 2 outside toe downs i welded a ring on plate and use 2 turnbuckles to secure.

I was in the same boat and went back and forth including on a Fuzion310. The 301 has the bump out with the fridge, that bumpout takes away from the picnic table space under the awning, so I went with the 300 Fuzion which has only a drivers side bump out.

Two things made us decide for the 300 instead of the 301. 1st is the slide-out fridge which takes away from the picnic table. And on the same note the fact that you cannot get to your fridge without having to slide out that section were the two main reasons.

We looked at both the 300 and 301 and decided on the 2014 301 instead of the 2013 301 because it had the awning over both doors. The slide on both sides makes it bigger inside and we only need a small table under the awning for all of our ATV gear.

We went back and forth as well, but decided on the 301 for interior space and momma liked the kitchen better. ( not as tall of cabinets) both are nice trailers. We have not found we missed the longer awning on the 300 like we thought we would. It has proven to be a non issue. As far as the getting to the frig while traveling, another non issue, just hit the button for the slide and there it is.

We bought a used 300, but looked at the 301 too. I think the end factor was the lost space on the outside.

We looked at both when upgrading from our FZ260. Was definitely going with the 300 for the longer awning, but found out the 2014 301 comes with the full size awning over both doors. Two slides, and the big awning - we are very happy with our purchase of this extremely heavy beast!
