Front Hitch

Anyone out there using a front mounted hitch to carry bikes? We are spending 3 weeks on the road this summer and I was thinking a front mounted bike rack on my truck might be easier to load and unload bikes. I am concerned about putting a bike rack on the rear bumper of my trailer. I have an expensive road bike that I typically carry in the bed of my truck plus 2 other mountain bikes for the wife and daughter.

I already have a receiver mounted bike rack and so I would just need to buy and install the receiver, which is cheaper than trying to mount a roof rack.

Any thoughts or ideas?

I did it for years with my TT. The only draw back is you lose some of the light from your headlights. Multiple trips to FL and NY. I first tried on the TT bumper, but one trip it came loose and cost me 4 bike rims.
