I have a Vizion by Fuzion by Keystone 5th wheel. It has a compartment on the front pre built for a generator. Prewired (theoretically), there are some heavy duty wires in it, and a starter switch on the switch panel inside the RV. What generator should I be looking for? I have 2 air units, one is a heat pump as well. The RV is 50 amp, with electric/gas water heater. Sound would be a definite issue as the generator sits below the bedroom.

Most likely an Onan 5.5K or 6.5K is designed to fit. We ordered our unit with the factory installed unit, cheaper than doing it later.

Ditto. The Onan is designed to fit.

I used to have a toy hauler. Had an Onan 5500 in it.... Ran everything just fine. Even both A/Cs (at the same time).

One thing worth checking is the wiring of the A/C.... In mine, they were both on the same leg of the power distribution panel. This meant that turning on the second A/C would cause the generator main breaker to trip. Once I figured out that fact, I moved the A/C to the other leg of the panel and it was fine.

My Avalanche (with no genny) is also wired with both A/Cs on the same leg... But not having a built in generator, this is not much of an issue for me.

If you want to run 2 a/c's you will need at at least 5,500W gen set. Be aware of fuel usage. With both a/c on and gen set at full load figure 3/4 gal per hour of fuel usage. If you have 30# LP tanks that is about 7 gallons of LP.

If you have a gas gen set the fuel usage will be about 10% less.

If you need a/c, you either need to go north or up in altitude.
