We bought a 2011 Avalanche used. We are getting ready to travel with it for the first time and want to know how to tie down the recliners so they don't bang into things. We have a rear kitchen so the recliners are near the door and large window. The chairs are side by side.

Our Outback came with black fabric straps that click onto "D" rings mounted on the floor on each side of each chair. They can be tucked under the chairs for a short stay, or completely removed and stowed away if you want .....

Our Cougar came with the same straps .... we have never used them and never had a problem. (And you know what they say about Jersey drivers "bouncey: )

Ours didn't come with a recliner, but we added a Lazyboy and screwed it to the floor. It never moves, LOL.

Nessmuk,

As others have stated, the nylon tie-down straps & D-rings would have been in the 5th wheel when sold new. If you want
them, you might contact some of your area RV dealers & see if they have *extras* lying around.

As long as your recliners aren't the kind that swivel, then chances are they won't move while traveling... just remember
to move them away from the blinds/window, and take it easy over speed bumps, etc. We had the same furniture arrangement (floorplan)
in our previous 5th wheel and never had a problem with the recliners or the 4 dinette chairs moving.

Hope this helps, and have fun on your first journey!

We just turn ours back to back and put a strap around the backs to strap them together and keep them from rocking. They are very solid and don't seem to move at all. We have tie down rings in the floor but don't use them.

My Hornet came with the tie down strap. Do you have some rings mounted into the floor near them? If so that is what they are for
