Just wondering what length most use for your sewer hose? Is 15' long enough as a general rule or would I want a longer one?

We recently purchased a sewer hose that had two 10' pieces with connectors and sewer elbow. On our first trip with the new TT we needed all 20' feet of hose. I think the flexibility of a set up like ours would work well for many people. We purchased it through Amazon (best price).

That's all I have ever needed. But if you want longer you can buy extensions at your local rv store or amazon.

I have a 15 ft one. That is long enough most of the time. On rare occasions I have used a 15 ft extension hose.

We also have 2-10 foot sections which works best. First 2 times out we needed all 20 feet but since then we can get away with only 1 section. Nice to have both sections in the bumper just in case.

15 will work in most places but there are those few that you will need more, good to have an extra tucked away someplace just in case. Sewer hose seems to have the largest mark up in the campground store...

We have 2 10 foot sections. We almost always only need one section, but have the other if necessary. The nice thing about having two identical hoses is that I can swap them out to equalize the wear on each hose. That way, there's not one that's "new but dry rotted" and "one with holes". Both are about equally used and get replaced about every 3 or 4 years. We have the 6" square fence post mod with a piece of PVC gutter as a drawer, so I just pull the back hose from the drawer which rotates the hoses for wear.

I have two 10ft hoses. I would have an extra hose if i where you, you wont need it most of the time but every once in a while you will need it. I found it out the hard way, on our first night with our rig the sewer connection was too far away for my hose to reach didnt have the extention, so it was the first thing I bought when we got home.

We carry two hoses, I think they are both 20 feet (I bought the longest I could find at CW). We like the out of the way campgrounds, NOT near interstates. We very often need more than one hose.

I have a 15' and a 5' extension. Rather than hassle with them, I keep them connected, but the connection leaks under pressure. Now I'm looking to switch to a 20 footer.

UDPATE: I just ordered the RhinoFLEX coupler to join my two Rhino hoses together rather than the leaky connection.

I started out years ago with 10 foot of hose, but over the years I've learned to carry more.... Currently I carry 40 feet and that seems to cover every instance we've encountered..

Ten feet will cover 95% of campground hookup but that one instance where you are surprised by the sewer pipe being 30 or 40 feet away will ruin a week long experience pretty quick...

Same thing with water hose and power cord... I carry two 25 foot water hoses and an extra 25 foot of power cord...

To make the sewer hose easier to store I use the Rhino Dominator hose because a 10 foot section stores as 2 feet...

I carry a 15 footer that covers most campsites and a 10 footer that I use at dump stations and I can combine for 25 feet if the sewer is in a weird location.

I picked up the 20 foot package today, thanks for all the input.

I carry two 20 ft'ers, and have used them in two camp grounds. I always wondered why they put the ground sewer part on the left side of the pad and the other was almost to the tongue area. I have been back to the two parks and have asked for a different camp spot each time.

Have Rhino 15' and 5' sections, don't remember having to add the 5' in my trips.

Spring for some good hoses, I used cheap ones for years and never knew what I was missing, can't say I enjoy hooking up/emptying sewer lines, but I used to hate it - now I don't.

This http://www.keystonerv.org/forums/showthread.php?t=4007 ramp helps too.

Like everybody is saying, 15' will suffice most of the time. I have a high quality 15'. But I keep a cheap 15' extension and have needed it on occasion.
