Hi all, I just bought my first toyhauler the fuzion 300. I love it!! I would like to add the ramp door patio kit. Is this something I can do or does it have to be done at the factory?? Thanks

I looked at the 300 at an RV show here in Houston and the sales guy told me that it could be added. I would think that it could be added pretty easy as there's not much to it at all. Bad part, I'm sure they'll charge an outrageous price for something very simple.

I wound up buying a 2011 Fuzion Touring Edition that came with the patio and we absolutely love it. I'd say you would definitely enjoy it and everyone that came by commented on it.

The patio kit was already installed on my unit and I am not sure where you get one but when you find it, you'll like it. As far as the weight on a door that didn't already come with the patio kit..... I'd think that it would be heavy duty enough to support a few adults at the very least. If they're capable of pulling some heavy toys over them to park in the garage, they should support some people on them.

We have it on our 384pk Raptor and we love it and the dogs really love it when we have both of the ramps put in the deck position,They say that ours will hold 1600lbs total in the deck position.:D

Great!! Thanks everyone!! It's kind of funny, I called the keystone customer service and they told me that they don't recommend doing it, basically if it wasn't done by them. Then I called my dealer and they told me that it was because some dealers had installed it wrong....Also found out that the kits costs about $2500!!! looks like I may re-think it. Nothing that 4 jack stands and some 2x4's cant fix!!!! Thanks again!!

I actually called Lippert and talked to a door specialist. He said they were constructed the same the only difference is the surrounding edge that has the holes for the railing poles.

I added the cables to my 12 Fuzion FZ 300 Bumper pull. $75.00, you can make them a lot less. But I wanted to use the mounting brackets. I did have to modify the cable because the door on BP is 7ft and the 5er doors are 8ft. All has worked well. I did not buy the full patio kit.

That's not too bad for cables and brackets, almost acceptable. Any drilling or is everything bolt on? happen to have the part numbers?

I don't have part numbers. The dealer ordered just the cable kit. Used stands to level the door and Drilled. Just check, double check and then check again before you drill.

Talked to local dealer, they called Keystone and apparently they won't sell just the cable kit, you have to buy the entire patio package...WTF>?

Could try here http://www.factoryrvsurplus.com/index.php or maybe a rv salvage yard.

I have a 2010 TEII 405 that came with the patio kit and have never used it. The dealer set it up to show me that everything was there and put it back in the bag. Since then it sits in my garage at home. Never had the occasion to use it.

I bought a raptor 300MP. I used aircraft cable and carabiner style clamps. I have less than 100.00 in it. I drilled a total of 4 holes. Two above the door and one on either side of the door. They are pretty subtle holes. I didn't want the patio kit because i didn't want to pay for the "playpen" that they usually sell you. It works great.

If the doors are the same what in the hell do you get for $2600? I have it in my fuzion and have never used it. Everywhere I camp too many bugs!

The doors are not the same. From the factory the door has better support for patio kit. I have used mine many times but limit the number of people or weight at once.

If anyone would like to sell their full patio kit I'm open to buying it.

I would bet good money that there is absolutely no difference in the doors at all! I have been told by many that the rear wall on trailers with the patio kit is reinforced with a steel plate to support the awning. Guess what? When I installed my awning after the fact, the steel plate is there when everybody said it wouldn't be. I'm pretty sure these rumors get started by people that got suckered into paying a ton of money for the package and they want to believe that they have something superior to everybody else. RV manufacturers avoid using different parts on units of the same model at all costs.

To answer the question about what the high priced package includes, the patio package comes with the cables, cable brackets, railings & brackets and the rear awning. The awning itself is approximately 1/4 of the cost. I had no need for the annoying railings so I didn't purchase the package. I haven't gotten around to getting the cables yet, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over having a few people sit or stand on a ramp that handles a 1500 lb vehicle just fine.

Nice pics of your modification. I just picked up my Raptor last week and did not order the patio system because I live in Texas and dont see us hanging out on the patio in our weather. There was also the cost factor as previously mentioned. I was however expecting the door to have cables and the retractor system in order to assist with the door but it of course did not. So now I want to add the cables and spring system in order to assist in opening and closing the door. Do the cables you ordered just come with cables or is there additional parts for the spring loaded retractor system?
