I spoke with my tire guy (Goodyear store owner and friend) who relayed information (from Goodyear) regarding tire pressure in E rated tires. It recommended 90 psi on the RV (10 psi over the 80) and 85/70 psi on truck...how wierd does that sound???

If there is something "official" from GY in writing, then I would say it is not weird.

I was shown the GY flyer he had received and highlights were pointed out. I would like to see it again to study it further.

Higher cold pressure within reason will give less tire flex which equates to less heat I set mine at 84 cold and use nitrogen which is less inclined to lose air and also conducts heat better, I only use the nitrogen because I get it for free, also don't forget to ballance as an out of ballance condition creates wear and heat.

IMHO you have no idea what pressure your tires need until you have actually weighed each wheel. The designers have published charts of load versus pressure for every (I think) LT tire that carries a DOT code.
I usually run 35 psi in my Load Range E tires on my Expedition. It works fine, and gives me the best traction possible. Running at 80 psi would dangerously decease the size of the tire to road contact patch. Your choice.

Be careful about throwing around pressures for any tire as every application can and will dictate differences.
Prime example is my car, when the same 245/35/18 tire is put on a normal sedan, more than likely it will call for all of the tires to be around 32-33 pounds. On my car, the fronts need to be 36 because of 4 extra pistons under the hood.
Motorcycles, same thing, weight and sidewall construction will dictate pressures.
Trailers, yup, exactly the same thing. What works for someones 18K 5th wheel with 3 axles probably won't work for someone elses 15K 2 axle setup.
Yes, I know way more about those magic black round things than I care to.
