While traveling the Interstate System do I have to stop at the scales while pulling my travel trailer?
If so - What do they do there?

PS - I'm not really sure if I posted this in the right place.........

as long as your not comercial carrier or towing for hire, the answer is NO.

one exception I know if is in some states if you are also carrying or towing boats or personal watercraft and they have a watercraft invasive species checkpoint, usually at a weigh station, sometimes at a rest stop you are required to stop. Oregon, Idaho, and washington are three states that set up watercraft inspections stops.

However, at least in Oregon, if the station is closed the scales remain open and on and it is an easy and quick way to get weight on each of your axles at no cost.

No don't stop, and they don't want you in there.

All good answers. No unless you are getting paid to deliver they really don't want to mess with you.
