OK, a new question about surge protectors and battery cutoff switches. I just installed the progressive industries hardwired 30 amp surge protector. Seems to be working here at home, gives the open ground fault every now and then and need to look into that. Also, just bought a battery cutoff switch that I was going to install, but I'm now rethinking that. I keep the trailer here at home and have an RV plug on the side of the building so I can keep it plugged in all the time. Do I have any need for the battery cutoff switch now? It seems I don't since the converter will keep the battery charged.

Thanks

I'm kind of in the same boat, after 3 years, I bought a house with a pole barn and a 30 amp plug. Now there seems to be no reason for a battery cutoff switch. With our newer 3stage converter chargers, I just leave it plugged in, all the time.
