Wrote up a blog post (http://loveyourrv.com/visit-to-valley-of-fire-state-park-nevada/) on our visit. Have to say I was blown away by this state park. The concentration of and colors of sandstone is fantastic. If you get in the area it's worth a visit. It's not a huge park so you can see a good bit of it in a day or two.

Nice camping spots inside the Valley of Fire State Park, in the nearby town of Overton and just south of Overton a great boondocking BLM area called Poverty Flats.

If your in the area and want to really get away from it all the is a little BLM free dry camping area , Whitney Pocket about 30 miles from I15 near Mesquite, NV

Here is a link to my post with info on it (http://loveyourrv.com/exploring-whitney-pocket-along-the-gold-butte-back-country-byway/)

I haven't dragged the Cougar up there yet but it looked quite doable if I took it slow. Kinda crappy road but paved.

Next fall when I'm back down here, gonna check it out for sure.
