After a lot of anxiety and loss of sleep, we took the 2510 out on it's first camping trip. I was very anxious after reading a lot of forum posts about pulling with a Tacoma V6 (the 2510 is just under 5K dry). To add to the anxiety, I woke up the day of the trip to gusting wind all along the trip route. No choice, had to go. We are in Greenville, SC and were heading for Columbia, SC to the Fort Jackson FamCamp. After about 20 minutes of driving, I was settling in, the wife fell asleep (thank you very much, navigator) and feeling pretty good about the trip. Semi-trucks were no problem, the only real movement I noticed was on bare hilltops and big bridges but I've felt a lot more movement in cars. Gas mileage was just above 13 mpg. The TT didn't seem to impact anything. Stopping was longer but that is expected, no sway what so ever, bumps from uneven road didn't even wake the wife.
All in all, it was a good trip down and back. Now if someone could only do something about the people in cars that think the driving only entails turning a key and pushing a pedal, I'd be all set.
Got a little cold, down to freezing and I went through one of the 20lb tanks. Not sure if that is normal or not for a 4 day, 3 nights (third night I switched to the other tank).
Both of us really like this TT and are looking forward to lots of camping (we are both retired) and meeting lots of new people.
