Nascar camping

We do both Richmond Races every year, Parking Lot J, Bristol in August for the entire week at Farmer Bob's (arrive Saturday morning, first in line two years running!) and always try and stick an Oswego in there when we can.

We have camped at Indy every year since 1994(first year). Haven't missed one yet. Staying on site is the only way to enjoy the weekend!

Where at the Charlotte track are you camping?...... and which race, the All-Star race, or the Coke 600?

We are going to the AllStar Race in May and camping at the Tim Flock campground. It's a good place to stay with no problem's so for.

I camp in the infield during the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, I know it's not NASCAR, but it is a lot of fun, been going 4 years straight and have no plans on ever stopping.

My wife and I have dry camped at Kentucky Speedway for the last 2 years both race weekends. We are in Hawk's landing which is pretty nice and is also considered one of the "family areas". We have not camped at any other speedways but are making plans next year for Bristol, Charlotte, and possibly Richmond.

Kentucky Speedway

I live a little over an hour from the speedway. We decided to see about camping at the speedway for the Sprintcup weekend with some friends. I called a year out and found out that I had to second mortgage my home to primitive camp! No wonder there are so many empty seats in the grandstands. I know the economy is in the pit, no pun intended, but pretty ridiculous!

I think we pay $300 for both weekends to reserve our spot. There are about 400 electric sites and they go for $750 for both weekends. From what I hear, camping at other tracks is similar pricing. Around us, state parks and other places to camp run about $25-$35 a day anyway and we spend 4 nights at the speedway so it is a little higher.

At Charlotte Motor Speedway, we are camping out of turn 4, (use to be called the Hellmans campground), with no hookups, and its $150 for the week of the All-Star race and $150 for the week of the Coke 600. Same price if you camp one night or 6 nights. A lot of great "camping racefans" there and its a great 2 weeks!

I love camping at the tracks. I think when you say $150 to camp it initally sounds high but when you consider that you can pull in wed and leave monday (5 nights) that only figures out to $30.00 per night. True that 150.00 doesnt get you any hookup like you would have at a typical campground but it does mean that you dont have to fight traffic after the race. A good trade if you ask me. Ready for Martinsville this weekend, cant wait til friday.

150 is cheap! I pay 250 a night to stay in a hotel when the race comes to Dallas.

Go to both Chicago weekends every year for the last 11. Camped at Indy, Bristol, Road America, and Eldora (not NASCAR I know, but racing still!).
