Outside temp sensor

Does anybody know where these are typically located? Mine seems to be reading incorrectly and may need replacement.

example: actual outdoor temp this morning 33f (wunderground) , reading from sensor 62f

ARE WE TALKING ABOUT YOUR TRUCK? SOME ARE LOCATED JUST BEHIND THE GRILL AND ARE BEHINDE SOMETHING SOLID SO WIND DOES NOT AFFECT THEM SOME ARE MOUNTED DOWN LOW UNDER THE TRUCK SO THEY READ ROAD TEMP HA HA HA WORKS FOR A CAR NOT A TRUCK THEY ARE UP HIGHER. BUT HEAT RISES AND THE ROAD IS USUALY A BIT WARMER THEN AMBIENT. IF YOURS IS LOW RAISE IT UP AND IT WILL WORK BETTER HAVE FUN

if it is your truck you are talking about, you can take it to the dealer they can calibrate the thing

My TV sensor doesn’t update until it’s been driving for a bit. That gives it some time to get a correct ambient reading. When I had a problem with mine, the dealer just replaced the sensor. I got the feeling that it couldn’t be calibrated.

EDIT: Oh, she (?) has one of them fancy trailers. I’d bet that if it’s tied to the thermostat, the sensor would be in the AC unit. And shouldn’t it be reading in C since you’re in Canada? F is *so* stone age.

I may be wrong but I believe the outside temp sensor on the Alpine is what is being looked at. The Dometic programmable thermostat in the Alpines (and others) has a button that shows the outside temperature. I have no idea where the exterior sensor is located but mine appears to be pretty accurate.

Yes, I was referring to sensor in/on Alpine. Sorry for confusion guys and gals.

Anybody else have any thoughts?

Edit: I just had me a thought. I have been using heat pump and outdoor sensor has been fairly accurate. We use furnace last night and now it is way out. This would lead me to think it is area that warm air is being dumped on. I have dug around down there, but don't recall having seen it.(sensor)

I checked my outside temperature this morning and it read about 20 degrees warmer than it actually was outside. Usually it reads correctly except when the sun hits the left side, so I am assuming the sensor is there somewhere. I guess I'll have to get up there and look. Happy Campin.............Ron

if you have temps that far out of line, I wonder if the temp isn't for the underbelly and informs you of temps there to prevent freezing up the pipes

On the thermostat it has 2 separate buttons one for inside temp and one for outside temp. I have not been using my gas furnace which would not heat the botton side, just electric heaters so the underbelly storage would be cold. The outside temp showed this morning 72 degrees when it actually was around 52 degrees...............Ron

Just a SWAG (scientific wild a** guess) but it has to be somewhere close to the thermostat wiring, so I'd bet its somewhere under the A/C shroud.
