Lippert Flex Guard for Slides

Today I made yet another repair to my slide due to the plastic "flex guard" breaking....again. I've done it multiple times by shortening it, cutting it off, moving piece parts etc. 2 days ago I saw it hanging again....yep, the last visit it had from anyone was at the dealership. At least they had placed a tiny zip tie around it and sort of "hung it up".

Ordered a new flex guard and decided to put a hinge on the end that attaches to the mount on the trailer (not the T bar with the support washer). Finished up and tried it out - I think it will work far better than the end of the flex guard being screwed to the vertical mount under the trailer letting the flex guard constantly just bend the plastic material backward and forward - then breaking. After watching the slide go in and out a couple of times it looked like this may be a nice fix....I hope.

Good deal. I have had to use “piano hinge” on brand new units that the factory sent with the flex guard just that much short and causing issues.

I prefer the split loom and screen door spring myself.
