6 Volt Batteries and Where to go for Best Price

Hi I was wondering what type of 6 volt batteries people are using and where to go for the best prices. Just a little FYI we have been using 2 12Volt batteries for the last 5 years and they have decided to pack it in at the same time. So we have decided to upgrade to 2 6volt batteries but am find lots of the internet and thought maybe I would check here.

Golf cart batteries seem to be more popular than the RV/Marine batteries.
Apparently they have higher amp hour ratings. At least mine do.

A lot would depend on how much money, space, and weight carrying are available. After those considerations, are you full timing in basically one area? If you are traveling extensively then consider warranty issues and what it would take to return or get a replacement battery.

When our two, 12v grp 24 batts give it up we'll also be looking at a pair of 6v golf cart batteries from either Costco or Sams. One thing to remember, if you're in a fifth wheel, is to make sure both batteries are enclosed in battery boxes vented to the outside. I'm still looking at options on just how I want to do this on the Cougar.

We replaced the puny, group 24- 12v battery that came with our 2012 Cougar with 2 - 6v golf cart batteries from Costco. IIRC, they were around $89 each in November of 2011. Traded the Cougar in November of 2017 and those batteries were still good. When we got the new trailer home, immediately went to Costco and bought 2 - 6v golf cart batteries from Costco. I think they cost me something like $96 each. Good bang for my buck

I bought mine from Batteries +, they were a little higher amp hour rating (235AH) than the interstates at Costco and a little cheaper with a 10% online purchase, in store pick up coupon, which I believe they still offer.

I also had to buy a new battery box, since the GC2 are taller than the G24.

I have a battery water filling system, that I bought on amazon, that sounds like the one Sourdough has, drop the hose into a bottle of distilled water and squeeze the pump ball until it won't squeeze any more... love it.

The new converter I bought at the same time is a 4 stage unit and I leave the trailer plugged in all the time at home.

I bought two honkin' big 12V's this summer. The old ones were toast, used since 2013. Bought the new ones at Canadian Tire in Prince Albert. Total was close to $380. Yes, I know two 6V's would be better, but I have two nice big 12's.
Our old Sub has two batteries in it, but our main TV only has one. I doubt I need to worry about dead batteries on a night or two with out SP.
