LP Gas connect how to and what can be connected?

Have a 1/4 inch quick connect on my Cougar 29RKSWE. I also have a Webber Go Anywhere Gas grill (OLD But still good) and a 3 burrner Coleman stove that I would like to hook to the quick connect for outdoor cooking. Since it is low pressure past the regulator what can I get or what do I need to do to make these work from the fitting? I dont think that this is plug and play for propane.

Do the Weber or Coleman have their own regulator? i.e. currently attached to the grills?

While not "plug-n-play", you can make it that way. I'll use the stove as an example. If your stove hooks to a 20-lb tank, then it's not too big of a deal. Take the hose with the regulator off the stove. Add a hose such as this one to it:
https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....L._SL1010_.jpg

Get one of these and add the female quick disconnect to your original hose (the one with the 20-lb tank connection):
https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....L._SL1010_.jpg

You'll need this to put the quick disconnect onto the original hose:
https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....L._SL1326_.jpg

So, in this manner, you can direct connect it to the camper's propane supply using the 1/4" quick disconnect, or attach the original low pressure hose via the new quick disconnect and use a 20-lb tank as originally designed.

Hope the images come thru....

I am looking to get a small outdoor portable stove that will hook up to the quick connect, anyone have any suggestions? Also do they make a T or Y for the Quick connect so I can run the grill and stove?

I put a black iron "T" where the quick connect outlet was and added a second quick connect coupler.

I bought a quick connect fitting and coupler kit, from home depot, removed the regulator on my Weber Q grill, installed the fitting on it and bought a 10 foot quick connect hose from amazon.

It works great.

I did something similar, I wanted to keep the original gas location so I took the elbow & quick connect off. Then added a tee and 4-5 feet extension.

This way I could have my bumper grill on left and stove on the right, while using them at the same time. This pic was before the modification.

I rarely use the grill anymore, I like cooking over the camp fire.

My LP quick connect is located about 2' behind the rear jack so I need to extend my black iron pipe and add a Tee. Can you tell me what size the black iron pipe is.

Thanks

Mine was 1/2 inch, home depot has a wide assortment of fittings, threaded lengths of pipe and nipples in black iron.

So what table top burners (1 or 2 burners) are out there that I can use the quick connect with?

If you want "easy adaptability" to modify a camp stove so you can use it with your trailer quick disconnect, you need to find a camp stove with the regulator that is attached to the hose, not built into the camp stove. While it's possible to modify a "built in regulator" it's much easier to just remove the hose with the regulator that attaches to the propane tank and install the quick disconnect hose in its place. Here is one brand that is easily adaptable. They offer two and three burner "table top" burners as well as multiple types of "free standing stoves". It's also one of the "better known and popular" brands, Camp Chef. While it's not the "cheapest China stuff (I won't call them junk) it carries a larger pricetag. Look them over, see if it fits your needs/budget and go from there: https://www.campchef.com/ranger-ii-t...ner-stove.html

And as a note for safety, ALWAYS use a propane rated pipe sealant on any pipe threads that you encounter while modifying or re-working. Propane leaks are potentially very dangerous/deadly

And soapy water test all connections

Dual Fuel Generator and external propane line

I hope this is the right place to ask this...

I want to get a dual fuel generator (Firman is what I am looking at) but it's not clear if I can attach the generator to the external line. I know I can run propane grills and fire pits from the trailer's quick-connect, however, Firman says their generator requires 1 PSI to run and they have what seems to be a special regulator, but that attaches to a propane tank. I'd rather use the external quick connect.
Does anyone have any experience with this?
Ideas?

Thanks,
Robert

1PSI is about 27.5” water column. RV regulators operate at 8-16”.

Without a Manometer, I wouldn’t attempt any adjustments, and even if you did get it that high, your LP appliances in the RV wouldn’t operate correctly.

You can NOT run a generator connected to the trailer's "regulated quick disconnect". The pressure is not the same as the generator's required operating pressure. Trailer QD (and internal appliance) operating pressure is 11" WD. That is approximately 0.4 PSI. Most generators operate at 1 PSI or greater, over double the trailer's regulated pressure.

To operate your generator, you'll need to either have an "independent propane tank" or a "Y" fitting to connect to your existing trailer tank. That fitting will connect to the "unregulated propane tank fitting (at the shut-off valve) and then go to the generator regulator and on to the generator...

Your trailer "regulated propane supply" is not the correct pressure to operate your generator.

Thanks

Thank you!

That's the kind of information I wanted to know.

I have a deal with the RV dealer that I don't have to pay for propane for as long as I own the RV. Now I'm just trying to figure out if it's worth the hassle of having to disconnect one of the tanks so I can hook it up to the generator or just get a plain gas generator.
