Replacing LP/CO detector - 2 sets of wires?

We are the happy new owners of a 2007 23RS. The previous owners removed the original LP/CO detector/alarm most likely because it came to the end of its life and was beeping. I bought a new one but when I went to install it, I noticed there were TWO wires coming from behind the wall. Both of them *appear* to be the same - one white wire and one white/orange. Is there a reason for this? Which one do I use to hook up my new detector?

Thanks!
