New Cougar, nothing to put in it

So Just pulled my new 2012 Cougar 24rls home, got my WD hitch adjusted for empty will tweek later when loaded. So I am brand new to camping in a TT and have nothing. Besides the basics what can you guys from your experience persuade me to buy or do. I will be leaving in a week or so camping in it and won't be close to home for a while, so would like to figure this out now while i'm home. Also what upgrades or mods do you suggest doing.

For mods, I like http://www.modmyrv.com/

For stuff you need, it depends on what you do. For home stuff, you need kitchenware and plates/silverware. I use disposable goods so I don’t have to wash. You’ll also need linens (sheets/towels).

Did you get some sort of starter package from the dealer? This would have your sewer hose (get disposable gloves!), fresh water hose, and preferably a flushout hose (grey colored) and clear sewer elbow with hose hookup for flushing.

You’ll also need wood for leveling under the wheels. I happened to have a bunch of dogear fence boards I cut into 16” lengths. Good for leveling and for putting under stabilizer jacks.

For cleaning, I have a dust buster, whisk broom, and a tub of household cleaning goods.

I think that’s the basics.

Thanks for the advice, what is a flushout hose and what's it used for?

The black tank is the toilet’s holding tank. When you empty the tank, not everything (use your imagination) comes out. It takes a bit of extra spray out from a fresh water hose to get everything out and leave the tank somewhat clean and less prone to stink.

I use this:
http://www.amazon.com/Valterra-F02-4.../dp/B0002UHVAA
Go to that link and watch the video.

And since you ask about flushing the tank, it reminds me that there’s a bit of a learning curve for the operation of a trailer. You might want to start another thread asking for tips and tricks for using your trailer.

Welcome to the forum. I just did a Google search and typed in Outfitting an RV and found numerous sites that you should take a look at. Most have lists of basic supplies that you will need to get you started.
Try browsing through the various sites and start compiling your own list of necessities or you can print them off.
Hope this helps.

Do you need this flush stuff if you have the flush port on the outside of your TT?

If you’re fortunate enough to have the flush port, you still need the stuff:
Grey hose to hook up to the flush port (*don’t* use your clean white hose)
Anti-siphon hose bib for your grey hose to protect the campground’s clean water supply
Clear elbow attachment for sewer hose so you can watch your tanks' contents go bye-bye while dumping and flushing
