Too far outside the box for anyone that travels a lot and sees varying road surfaces. If it works for him great, I would never dream of it.

I agree. It would be exposed to too much being mounted where it is. I have a friend that put one in his MH and has the outside unit mounted at the back on a frame he built and he has had no issues and they travel a lot. When I go in the MH it is always cold. I am thinking of doing it to my 5ver, my only issue might me that I'd have to mount the outside unit about midway up on the rear panel because there is a big storage box down low that I lose access to if I bumper mounted it. Not sure if the Panel would support it.

yeah i wouldn’t do it either because of the aesthetics but it’s is tempting because of the noise the rooftop units make…i’d imagine a tire blowout would take out the minisplit in short order….if you have been around a minisplit running either inside or outside you would realize how quiet they are…night and day difference with the rooftop units…it’s particularly annoying to me because i’m in the trade

Until we bought our current 5ver we were considering the Palomino Columbus River Ranch 392MB it had the basement Residential type A/C in the basement.
