Unhappy How do I unlock the steps to get into my 5th wheel?

I know, stupid question, but I just bought a 2012 Keystone Alpine and after we drove it home the stairs to get into the 5th wheel have locked. Is there a special level or button to unlock the stairs so they will come down so we can get into it?

Welcome to the forum!!

First off, only stupid question is the one not asked. Anyway you can post a pic? There are a couple of different locking styles of steps and a picture would help figure out which ones you have.

Our 2012 Montana has the same issue, would have to get a pry bar out to open them. I finally crawled under and discovered where one of the rivets was hanging up on a part of the steps. I ground the spot on the metal that was contacting the rivet and we haven’t had an issue since.
