Ground control 3 system

so I finally had the error after 3 years with my GC3 system. wasn't hard to fix, but during the reading upon the system I discovered Keystone put the wrong system on my 5th. in the instalation it says if your front and rear jacks are 20 feet or less from each other you use the 4 point system. If they are more than 20 feet you use the 6 point system. I measured mine out of curiosity and mine are 23.8 feet apart so by the Lippert manual I should have the 6 point system but I only have the 4 point.

anyone else set up like this?

From what I've read, they may have new installation guidelines.

I read if the GVWR is under 14,000lbs use 4 points system, anything over 6 points.

so when I downloaded there app on Friday they made no mention of the weights just the distance. I wonder if there is a reason for the change..

Here's the link to the manual;

https://lci-support-doc.s3.amazonaws...ion_manual.pdf

On page 3 it gives the specs for the use of 4 or 6 point. Read the [B]bold[[B] note at the bottom of the page - sounds like you should have had the 6 point....

Can't wait to see what Keystone will come up with.

Like they're going to replace it and install a 6 point... Good luck.

Well, we all believe in miracles don't we? On a 3 year old trailer?

Actually I think they are going by weights vs the distance between the supports.

oh I doubt that LOL, just want to see if this was a common thing or not. doubt my extended warranty would even cover it as a factory defect

I've had 4 and 6 and now hydraulic 6. They go by weight. Each leg is designed to hold 5k

actually there is a mention of weight, 15,500lbs so if the 5th wheel is 15500lbs or less and the distance is 20 feet or less then use the 4 point. if weight is over 15500 and distance is 20 feet or more use 6 point. then it says if either the weight is over 15000 lbs or the distance on center is over 20', then the 6 point MUST be used

Call Lippert and see what they say.

My Cougar was only 35'. It had the 4 point and a gvwr of around 13.2k. My HC was 43' and had the 6 point gvwr was 15.2 k. Never measured either. At 5k per jack all made weight specs. Now the 41' Montana at 16.8k has the heavier hydraulic 6 point system and do not recall the weight limit per jack.
