Fresh water tank level sender

Hey all,
I have 2918 Outback and while filling the fresh water tank, water filled and came out the overflow but tank level sensor read 2/3 full.
Tank is also now reading empty after 1.5 days of light water use.

Is there a calibration procedure that I can do, or do I need to take into Service technician for sensor?
Your help is always appreciated.

If your fresh water tank is INSIDE the trailer, you should be able to access the sending unit electrical connections on the side of the tank. If your water tank is under the trailer (between the frame rails) you might pull a couple of screws from the Coroplast bottom cover and use a flash light and a "skinny arm" to check and be sure the 4 terminals are tight and secure.

Since your trailer is a 2018, chances are it's no longer "in warranty" so it could get to be an "expensive proposition" to have a dealer "troubleshoot and repair" the issue.

Sounds like it works like all the tank sensors on any given rv, just pretty red lights signifying nothing. If it's not a simple loose wire, trying to make any of them any where near accurate will be a huge waste of time & $$$. Best to just learn your system & live with it.

Our fresh tank level indicators are the only ones that work. Prior to this past January and time dry camping near Quartzsite, our level indicator stopped working, saying the tank was empty when it was full to overflowing. I removed a corner of the coroplast where the drain end of the water tank is located and found the ground/common wire was broken. Once I spliced it back together, the system once again works. I sounds like you might have a broken wire.

Just a thought, but the sensor may reading correctly. On occasion, we have had water come out of the overflow but not been completely full. If you're used to getting more than 2 days on your FW tank then it may be that as you were filling the tank an air bubble occured. I've learned that if I'm getting water back out the overflow but the indicator says 2/3 I just rock the Cougar (push it a little side to side) and keep on filling. Doesn't happen every time but on several occasions when filling on uneven terrain I've needed to "burp" the tank to get it completely full.
