#?*!%&/~ broke into my camper 🤬

We used our camper over the Thanksgiving holiday and parked it on November 25th at our rented storage facility. Went by to check on it yesterday and noticed a shoe lace hanging out the back (bathroom entrance) door. Thought that seemed odd. Someone busted in through the back window in the bunks and used it for a night or two. Busted the doors open and used shoe laces to tie the doors shut from the inside. Empty beers cans and cigarette burns throughout. Police felt like it was illegals passing through as they have seen this before. Pretty much trashed the inside and stole the tv. Ate all the food that wasn’t in a can. I guess at this point it’s best that I DIDN’T catch them.... I’m SO pissed!

Very unfortunate and obviously frustrating. My condolences to you.
Call it Karma, call it a special seat in hell, the person(s) responsible will get theirs eventually. Doesn't take the sting off, but I like to try and find the good in the bad.
Hopefully insurance takes care of the window and other losses. Cigarette burns and the smell are probably going to be the worst.
Again, so sorry to hear. Good luck with repairs.

I hate very much to hear of your misfortune. My pissivity factor would be off the charts. Hopefully insurance will make you whole. Just another example of what happens when we don't get the illegal situation under control....(not political....just a fact for those of us that have to deal with it).

What I'll never understand about these dregs of society is why it is so important to destroy what they have found to enjoy. I do understand why they broke in. It was handy, warm, comfortable and easy to break into. What I don't understand is the urge to destroy things after they have used it. Why the cigarette burns for instance? I suppose this mentality has always been with us, it just seems to be so prevalent today. You already know that they will never be caught. What you need to wrap your head around is will you ever be comfortable storing in this facility again and can you enjoy your rig knowing these POS were in there.....I'm sorry for your troubles.

Had ours broken into Feb of 2015. The heroin addict vandalized and stole from 19 campers at that storage lot, 25 campers at the rv sales 2 miles from there. In all, he did similar acts at 2 rv dealers and 5 storage lots in the area. Damage to ours was almost $4K. He tore the tvs from their mounts, busted up cabinets, and gouged the sides outside dragging the tvs in between our camer and those parked next to us. The perpetrator finally went to trail in November of this year and was sentenced to 10 years, 5 suspended. Fortunately insurance came thru quickly as I had serial numbers and receipts for the tvs, dvd players, and all the rest of the stuff stolen ( sometimes it pays to be a hoarder) and photos of said stuff in the camper. Same documentation went to the detectives. I know the pain you are feeling, the violation and loss. I hope you are made whole again and they find the perpetrator and prosecute them.

Very sorry to hear this and hope things get better for you. There are a lot of ignorant people who have no self respect so they are incapable of respecting others or another's property. I am grateful I'm able to store my unit at home where it is safe.

Sorry to hear about your RV break in. I, too, store my Bullet on an outdoor RV storage lot. Been there 2 years without incident. When I signed my lease at that time, the owners of this lot claimed "no break in's" since their ownership over a period of 7 years. I believe them as they are on site practically 23 out of 24 hours each day. I thought they were anal at first but now realize that chances I'll be hosting "unwelcomed" guests in my trailer are slim. (No claims on the 4 legged, long tail variety though). It doesn't hurt too that a 8 foot barbed topped perimeter fence is in place.

I have a very low threshold on my temper and would have gone berserk...

Then after calming down and thinking about it... called the insurance company and ask them how soon I would get my down payment check...

Sorry for your loss. Hopefully the insurance company acts quickly and to your satisfaction. To those wondering about the mindset of these idiots: there is no remorse or understanding that they did anything wrong, I babysat these people for 29 years.

The lot where mine was broken into was a u store where the manager lives on site. Well illuminated with 54 cameras inside ad out. Made no difference.

A thief, burglar, or transient can break into (or steal) anything if they want to bad enough. Deterrents are good, camera's do nothing, a physical barrier is the reason I believe why my storage lot is relatively safe. Police presence too as there's a police station close by.

This is a very new, modern concrete surfaced storage facility with hundreds of storage sheds. Very nice place. Tons of cameras. None of them see my camper...

I sure appreciate all the sorrys. We are very meticulous and keep it very clean and organized. I’ve gone over there a couple times to do some cleaning and securing of the window and doors. I’m biting my tongue so as not to say what I really think of these “individuals “ and not get kicked off this forum. I mean seriously, they took a dump in my toilet. Between the cigarette smoke, mostly empty tuna packs and drying turds...

Unfortunately there are animals amongst us who walk upright.
