Instant pot successes?
Just as a break from our daily grind of tires and more tires, maybe y'all could post a little info on how you like your Instant Pot and maybe a favorite recipe used.
I have noticed that when they were first introduced the major cooking show hosts avoided them like IRS agents. Now it seems like all the "biggies" either have one of their own for sale (Ree Drummond) or are publishing cookbooks to cover the use.
I believe we are headed to Amazon to try one of the 6 quart sizes unless someone recommends something different.

With a member name like "no tan lines" and a thread titled "Instant Pot Successes" I didn't know what to suspect. Good to know it's about cooking...

Probably 60% of our meals at home are cooked in an Insta Pot. When we're on the road we mainly use a homemade wok on a gas burner, fire pit or the camp grill.

John, be careful. Remember, I’m still working on a system/device to use in the RV commode so the owners can find comfort but not use the black tank so the RV will be worth so much more on resale!🤡

We have one in the house after our daughter ranted and raved about how great they are. We don't use it much, as I prefer grilling and Q'ing and smoking and cast iron cooking.
I will say they do make easy, no brainer hard boiled eggs.

Jim, DW Adele bought one some time ago and loves it. She likes to buy tough cuts of beef (cheap) and let the Instant Pot make them tender and mouth watering in about 1/2 hr. Definitely worth the "price of admission". We have the small one perfect for 2-4 people. As you mentioned lots of recipes out there. It always comes with the TT.

That's a different kind of Instant Pot. I. Hope.[emoji16]

Maybe he's cooking some "Happy" brownies in that instant pot.

Curious as well because my wife (guess the lingo is DW?!) just bought one for ours. She claims that is the easiest way to cook rice on the road. She was born and raised in the Phillipines.

Jim,
I had never heard of one 2 years ago but my daughter had and asked for one. I bought her an 8 qt. because she has a family with 2 daughters..it was pretty big. Didn't want one for the RV because it was just too darn big. Then I found out they made different sizes. The smallest (4qt.?) was too little but the 6 qt. seemed "just right" so got one. It's a little larger than what I thought and haven't found a home for it in the RV but we've been using it in the S&B. Susan really likes it and has made various things in it but she really loves it for pressuring meats very quickly vs letting them simmer for hours when making soups, stews etc. She has tried making rice in it but prefers our dedicated rice maker. We will be leaving for FL in 3 weeks for the winter and will be finding a home for it in the RV so will update later on how that is working out. When traveling we like to eat out a lot for breakfast and fresh seafood and when cooking out much of the time it is on the grill but will try to put the Instant Pot thru its paces to see how it works out for us.

We have a small insta-pot and keep it in our trailer. We've made rice, soup and 2 chicken dishes. they're great when you're out all day, and come back to a nice hot meal with little work needed! great rice cooker too! I have even used the pressure cooker feature! Not bad!

My wife got one for Mothers Day from one of our sons.
Haven't used it a lot but have enough to know we like it a lot.
The best recipe so far is the Vietnamese Brisket Tacos. from the Insta Pot site.

My wife and I love ours.
It does the same basic thing as a slow cooker, but in 1/4 the time. The first one home puts a pot roast or whatever in it, and an hour later we are eating very tender and juicy meat, or stew.

I use the 8qt in my ToyHauler. Ribs and beans are done quick fast and in a hurry and taste great.

In case anyone is interested, Kohls.com has the 6 quart Instant Pot Ultra, regularly $189 on sale for $108 with the two online coupons. Probably as good as it will get on a national basis.
On edit: We also received $20.00 Kohl's Cash making the purchase $88.00.

I love my Instant Pot. Probably use it every other day making pot roast, pork loin, pulled pork, ribs, chicken pot pie and other dishes, all in under an hour. Keep in mind that some meals need to be browned so after cooking they need to placed in the broiler for 5 minutes or so.
There is a new product out that I have been considering. It's the Ninja Foodie. A combination pressure cooker (Instant Pot) and air fryer (for browning and frying). The reviews I've read have been good with the drawback being it's bigger and somewhat bulky. I like the idea of being able to brown without having to transfer to the oven.
