Another Newbie!

Hi All,

We're brand new to this and hope it leads to some truly rewarding experiences. After a serious motorcycle accident and a year plus of healing we are changing our "lifestyle hobby" you might say. First came the truck without yet having decided on the TT avenue so I got what I wanted in a truck. A few months after that we find ourselves at a RV Dealer and settle on what we hope to be a nice couples coach. We drove away with a 2018 Passport Elite 19RB. This was back in June of this year and right away we went from Virginia to Michigan with three camps along the way. When we got back the dealer has had it until just this past Friday, a full three months to fix the stove install and several other little ditties, incompetence at it's finest. At least it is considered a three season trailer so we're planning some upcoming weekends as the temperatures start to drop.

We put a three inch memory foam topper on the bed and the rest is really quite nice. The truck can easily pull the load but I have to adjust my driving habits some and it should all be good.

I've already learned a bunch from you all so it seemed that the only decent thing to do was to join you. So, thanks for all the advance info and that which I'll be seeking down the road.

Regards, Dan & Jane from Virginia

Welcome from Michigan. Congrats on your new Passport. The service time on coaches can be long and upsetting to most new RVers. If you're handy with a few tools and ask around these boards, sometimes small issues can be handled at your own will. It's a shame that the RV industry is producing a record number of coaches of questionable quality only to be serviced by a finite number of dealers and 3rd party providers. The line can be season ending for sure.

Again, welcome to the Keystone family. Good luck with your coach and safe travels.

Welcome to the club!

There was a time (5 minutes after signing the purchase paperwork) that I thought the service department at my home dealership sucked...I'm beginning to think that they weren't all that bad after all!

Thanks Chris, we left NJ eight years ago for VA and never looked back. We lived up near Lake Hopatcong for 25 years.

Congrats and enjoy your newfound hobby. Lots of good advice here from many folks that have "been there, done that, and have the t shirt".

Thanks for the welcome Busterbrown. Our first venture was to Commerce Township Michigan to visit a friend. Amazing how vast the State Park system is there. We stayed at Proud Lake Rec. Area. Good facilities and friendly neighbors to help us out with some of those first time oops's like power extension to reach the box and a few others that I'll keep quiet about!
