Slide cable

Looking at some cougars. How are the cable driving slides holding up. I have had gear driven and hydronic with no problems.

Adjustment (factory) is a big part of it.
The other part is to make sure that the slides are not binding (in any way) in their opening and that the slide cables are NOT touching the guides. If they are touching the guides, this indicates that something is maybe up with the setup.

Motors are holding up fine on mine, as are the new cables... Once we had a trip back to the factory to true up the slide opening.

One of the biggest factors with the successful operation of the cable type slides is that the trailer is really level.....front to back and side to side. Proper adjustment of the cables is right up there with properly leveling the trailer. It is a "give and take" system. So when the cables that are pulling the slide out are operating, the opposite 4 cables must have a bit of slack....otherwise, they are fighting each other and it's not purdy!
