From what I can see, you are just adding a tow dolly to the front of your fifth wheel. What's the point, unless it locks up solid you won't be able to back up with it. Also it will overload axles somewhere.

I faintly remember seeing an ad or picture for a device that would turn a conventional travel trailer into a 5th wheel by adding a semi-permanent gooseneck attachment. Now that made pretty good sense and it only added two or three feet to the trailer length - and a few extra pounds. The “dolly” device doesn’t seem to have, IMHO, any practical use.

A few tight turns like that will do in those LT tires on the trailer. They are not made to take side scuffing like that.

If new to new that $10K to $14K would likely be a wash if not less assuming very few miles on the 250/2500.

If driving a used then it goes a long way to making the step to the 3500 SRW or DRW. Personally I would not go from a 2500 to a 3500 SRW not enough true difference! Our next step is 3500 DRW.

Guess that is why the LT’s on our 12,360# GVWR 5er made it 12 years before I replaced only because of age!

ST tire scrub just like LTs do. As I have stated before tires on semis all have the same carcass design, just possibly a different tread design. Take of worn drivers become trailer tires until the tread is too thin, then either capped as drivers or ribs for trailer use.

Nope, I don't smoke anything, never have. And when I asked a few three-quarter ton truck owners how much they thought it would cost them to upgrade to a one-ton dually, the answers averaged was $30K. Go ahead and run if you want, it's my honest evaluation.

Maybe, maybe not. I just had an inspiration! I have small motorcycle trailer; will take the Andersen Ultimate out of my F250 bed and stick it on the trailer and then I can carry a bed full of junk and still pull the 5ver! I can hook my safety chains (legal TX thing) onto the bike trailer and be good to go! Do you think I will still be able to jackknife the 5ver 120 degrees like in the video?

There was similar post a couple of months back on another forum, started the same way, what do you think of this, thinking about getting one. Followed up with a few 'hmm why' posts, then a 'it works great for me!' post. All from users with under 10 posts and no real profile details or pics.
