Manufacturers maual

I have a 2016 Keystone Springdale 240 BH. Is it possible to get the manufacturers construction manual? I want to know location and orientation of tanks, piping (water and gas), electrical. There are a few modifications I would like to do and it would help out greatly.

The gas lines are easy as they cannot be concealed, they can penetrate the floor and travel inside the cabinet to the stove, or heater as required. Good luck on finding any information on the rest of the stuff, just use common sense and hope. Your plumbing roof vents will tell what walls they are going up. Most fixture plumbing and toilets go straight down, Sink vents are located at each fixture mounted high in the cabinet. most showers have a tank directly below so no vent required just the tank vent as described above. The electrical is the real nightmare.

Just to add to what's been already said, no particular unit is built, wired, stapled, screwed, nailed, and piped exactly the same. Those who work the demanding hours on the assembly line in and around Elkhart, IN can run 12 volt wire anyway probably 12 different ways in the ceilings, floors, and walls. There is no standardized schematic for all the different coaches. If there was, I'd bet quality would go up considerably.

It’s not really about demanding hours, it’s more about quantity of units produced on any given day. It’s not just Keystone, the entire RV industry is in a serious boom with no real end in sight. I see it every day, deal with it every day. And it’s still cheaper to “ship it” and pay the warranty labor rate than shut down the line.

There are some “standards” that are applied, but the specific route of a specific wire may not be the exact from one to the next. For example, with vacuum bonded walls, the wires have to be in the same spot, but that bundle leaving the fuse panel and going into the underbelly may go UNDER the tanks on one and OVER the tanks on the next one. Chances are the breaker panel and fuse panel labels DONT match he actual circuit. They all work, but if there is a problem, one can spend a lot of time tracing wires. I do know that Jayco does follow specific schematics and will send said schematics to the dealer service dept to aid in diagnostics. Do,I wish they all did? Yes but it won’t going to happen in our lifetime I’m afraid.

A good test light, Ohm meter and plug checker will become your best friends in a hurry!

My brother has a Winnebago View. I don't recall exactly what we were doing to it at the time, but we did manage to run down wiring and plumbing schematics from the Winnebago site.

We didn't end up needing them, so I can't vouch for their accuracy. But the question remains - if one company has drawings like this and releases them, does Keystone have them, and if so, why aren't they available?

And yet I ponder, how many people have these documents for their house?

Still have the plans for the last house I built, drew the plans up sitting at the kitchen table, and those were what the house was built with.

To the OP, plans are nice but its something that isn't available in the RV industry.

I work in the electrical/electronics end of industrial maintenance and feel your pain. If it helps, think of it as part of the magic of camping. All that being said...

Welcome from the Midlands of South Carolina!
