New guy from central Texas checking in
The wife and I just picked up a '18 Cougar 359MBI last Thursday and turned right around and went out on our maiden voyage the day after. Coming from a much smaller bumper pull camper, it took a little to get used to while towing but got settled down after only a few miles. After a weekend of checking things out and putting it through the paces, I was pleasantly surprised to only find 1 minor issue that will need to be addressed by my dealership at the end of the week.
anyways, here is a picture of the new setup:

Great looking setup. Congrats on the Cougar! Looks like there's plenty of room in it. Safe travels!

Welcome to the forums. If its a minor issue and you can fix it yourself don't take it back to the dealer. You will be waiting to get it back. Its not like taking your car into the dealer where you can get it back in the same day or an over night. If parts need to be ordered it will sit on the lot until those parts come in and then wait more until they get to it.

Appreciate the insight. Sadly, these are things that were caught in the PDI that had to be ordered from the factory (dent in stove door, broken pendant light, wrinkled MCD roll up shade, etc). These things were ordered before I picked the 5er up. Plus, with the holidays coming up tied with my work schedule, I wouldn't be missing anything if it sat on the dealer's lot for 4-5-6 weeks.

Another local, sweet. I'm actually planning on staying just down the road from you in Mother Neff as soon as I can. Any suggestions about the park?

I only say this from experience. Bought our new Laredo first week of June and took it back to my dealer 10/11/17 for the same PDI things they were SUPPOSED to order back then. Supposed to pick it up tomorrow....4 weeks and 4 days later. Don't count on those having been ordered already. They say they need to document and justify the issues with the manufacturer before they can get parts. I hope you have a little better experience. Luckily we had no plans to use our unit until next week. Fix every thing and anything you can yourself. Good luck.

Unfortunately, from my experience, something gets lost in translation when you are having a trailer in for repairs. If they have to order parts (or anything else for that matter) and you are to return I would suggest doing as I do.
When I take it in initially I advise what I want done. They determine how it will be done, what it will cost and what they will order. I note exactly what is to be ordered and when it will be in, when it will be repaired etc. Before I take it back in I call and have them read me back what the repair order says, what they ordered and verify that it is there. I've had them order fenders for the wrong side, wrong stabilizers, skylight covers etc. If everything sounds correct I just take it in and hope for the best. It's not a cure all by any means but it has helped on cutting down needless trips.
