Smile Finally have an RV after years with a pop-up

First, I'm a Texan. My wife is a native Texan.

We, and our kids when they were still at home, have loved camping for many years. After roughing it in tents for awhile, we bought a used pop-up camper in 1998. We did our camping with it from then until now. It's still in our garage.

I have just inherited a 2012 Keystone Hornet Hideout from my brother who recently passed away. This camper is one he purchased as an investment, made a few upgrades to, and never used. The original owner, from whom he bought it, used the unit twice, putting a total of less than 400 miles on it, then put it in storage until my brother bought it about 18 months ago. So I have a virtually new 4 - 5 year old camper that I am very eager to put to use.

Upon inheriting this camper, I didn't have a vehicle capable of pulling it. Its loaded weight is just shy of 10,000 lbs. But, in the short time since I inherited it, I purchased a 2013 Toyota Tundra with plenty of towing capacity, so hopefully we are ready to get busy RVing.

Our first trip will come in November, when we camp with our church in a state park. Hopefully, we will manage it well and get the use from it we are looking forward to.

Texas, make your brother proud.....camp in that thing until the wheels fall off! We also paid our dues with tents and pop-ups, taking our own kids and half the neighborhood most of the time. You'll wonder why you didn't do it years ago.

Hi from DFW Texas I bought a 2013 Keystone Hideout Hornet and can not find where the cable TV wire hooks up on my Rv when we stay where it is offered. Do you mind telling me or a picture where your connection is located? Thanks so much!! And congratulations on your new RV!!

Welcome from Georgia and happy camping! I agree to replace the tires, even if the tread looks new. Dry rot is no fun when driving down the road...

Sorry, but this dude has been back hiding in Texas for more than a year and a half. I'm afraid your posts are falling on deaf ears.
