I am not a surge protector expert. Just sharing what we use. When we decided to get a surge protector I did some Internet research and bought the Progressive Industries EMS-PT30X for about $255. It works. On the first camping trip that we used it, it reported a low-voltage issue. It is designed to shutoff power when the voltage drops below 104. It was not the best camping trip. We reported the issue to the campground personnel but they could not do anything about it on the weekend. We had to switch the refrigerator, and water heater to propane. At least the electrical equipment was protected.

Don't get the cheap ones, they give minimal information and protection. Get the best ones, either Progressive or Surge Guard. Link for Surge Guard 50A;

https://www.amazon.com/Technology-Re...e+guard+50+amp

Link for Progressive 30A:

https://www.amazon.com/Progressive-I...e+guard+50+amp

I use the Surge Guard and have been very pleased with it. Lots of folks use the Progressive and have been pleased with it as well.

Edit: Sorry, I gave a link for the 50A Surge Guard when you said you had 30A. They make a 30A as well and think they are about $260 at CW.

I have the progressive, hard wired, 30 amp unit and it has shut things down a couple times for low voltage, missing ground, swapped neutral, etc.

I would not camp without it, the stuff it is protecting is a lot more expensive plus they offer a lifetime warranty on it.

Being a protective device, I would not cut corners with a cheaper device. If I recall correctly most of us have either Progressive or Surge Guard Units. Due to the unique power configuration of the Raptor or any other rig having an on board generator I choice Surge Guard, do not think Progressive has a transfer switch unit.

Most surge protectors are sacraficial and are an "after the fact" device. An EMS will Prevent most disaters and go on to protect another day. Search the forum, lot's of posts on the subject.
