Cool Soon to hit the rode from NM

We are Red Fox and Lizard. We bought our 4 RV trailer last year. We love the Montana 3731fl model. We have all the residential package in the kitchen but the refrigerator started to act up. It is a Samsung model with ice maker. The fridge won't cool under 54 degrees and the ice maker quit working. We looked up the refrigerator and its reviews are horrible. Why would keystone invest in such a bad product?
Anyone else having these issues? Anyone know if there is a recall on them?

Thank you all.
Happy and safe travels

Welcome to the forum from New Jersey, Your fridge issue may be a condenser fan issue, or blocked coil .I used to do home appliances, I'm sure the freezer is barely freezing. Not sure how its cooled in the camper set up though.

Welcome to the forum

Read this:

RV makers use the “Lowest bid” for appliances, that doesn’t always equate to quality.

Chuck. Is that Samsung unit cooled the same way as a home unit in the rv? Or differently?

Residential fridge in an RV operates the same as it would in a house. Only difference is the power supply. In a house/apartment it is plugged in and gets its power from the utility company. In an RV it gets its power from the utility company when the RV is plugged into power, orwhen not plugged in, from an inverter that changes 12VDC to 110VAC.

We have the same Samsung in the same unit. We’ve had constant problem of frig not cooling. Several trips ruined and lots of expense. Replaced coil and mother board and 2 weeks later still not cooling. Freezer works fine. I will never buy another unit with this frog in it!

Greetings and welcome to the forum from Minnesota! Yes you'll find that most things in your camper came from the lowest bidder... but look at it as a positive, you have free reign to replace, mod, and customize to your heart's content!
