How to value my camper?

I'm thinking of putting my camper on the market. I was only able to go out twice last year, and I don't know if I'll be able to go anywhere this year. To much on my plate, and it costs a lot to keep the camper if I can't use it.

In the past, I've looked at NADA to gather information on the camper, but I was once told by a dealer that NADA valuation wasn't accurate, and they went by whatever was in their book.

Is there another way to get the value, or what I get from NADA a valid representation of what the actual value is?

Thanks

Daryl

Daryl, I would start by spending about an hour searching your friend Google for units VERY close to the RV you now own. The model number of most importance, the model date of manufacture second, and RV condition third.
RVtrader.com would be he first place I would go. Remember, you are not very interested in what dealers are asking, you mainly want to know what private owners are asking for their RV's.

Jim,

Yes, I've done the google searches before. However, in the past, the posts that I find are old and outdated. I'll search again and see if there are any new postings out there.

I've never heard of rvtrader.com. I'll check it out. Hopefully I can gather some information.

Thank you for your help and suggestions.

Daryl

Dealers use "black book" values, which equate to about the wholesale prices on NADA, or less.
I'm asking 1/2 of the new price of mine & have not gotten any interest in 2 months it's been listed on RvTrader & Craigslist.
I've discovered used rvs are worthless to everyone but the poor guy that owns it & of course his bank.
