Lifting axle on 2016 303RLS

I have a 2016 303RLS.

I have replaced my hitch with a Super Glide. This lifted the king pin a couple of inches.

Now, when pulling in/out of my driveway the rear bumper drags. I want to raise the height at the trailer axles 2-3 inches.

Flipping the axle is not a choice. It is already flipped.

Has anyone done this?

Choices that come to mind are:

1. add a block between the axle and spring, and use longer U bolts.

2. increase the space between the frame and the springs.

3. Bigger tires.

For no particular reason I think option 2 is the best choice.

I am assuming the trailer did not drag prior to adding the new hitch. Being the new hitch raised it up I would recommend you see if you can raise the pin box the needed clearance. This would bring your trailer back level as I assume it was with the old hitch and it should not drag anymore. Is better than spending the money and the time to raise the trailer.

If you do use blocks, I had them on 2 different toy haulers with no issues, make sure you upgrade to longer AND heavier u-bolts, next size up in diameter.

I added these to mine. They add 2" of lift to the hanger so it does not add any extra leverage/stress to the springs.

Do this first if you can. On mine my pin box was all the way up and my hitch was all the way down. I was still high in the front.

Thanks for all of the replies. I'll start reading them after breakfast.

I just want to say that we had already lowered the pin box to eliminate the dragging with the old hitch.

The front was riding just slightly high from level before the hitch replacement. Now the front is noticeably high.

Originally the spare tire was dragging. They raised the spare tire as a warranty item.

This looks like my best option. Direct bolt in replacements for existing parts. No welding, cutting, drilling, etc.

$323 for tandem axle, plus labor. I do not have any way to jack up the trailer so I will pay my dealer to do it.

Thanks

You may well have the Correct Track on your trailer... My '15 Cougar 333MKS came with it...

Yup. That is what I have now. It just isn't 2 inches.
