Suspension upgrade

I know about Morride independent suspension but has anyone had experience with Timbren Silent Ride or Liberty Rider systems?

Be interesting to hear people’s experience with the Timbren trailer suspension, if any. I have the the Timbren SES on the rear of my TV, which I like.

I have never checked on this, but several years ago in the Trailer Life mag, there was an article about an air suspension that could be installed on trailers, and it looked to be a solid upgrade. Has anyone ever heard of or seen one of the suspensions installed on a 5er? https://www.autoflexsuspensions.com/...-flex?recid=14

Looks like a good system but at $3,800.00 a lot more than the Timbren or Liberty Rider.

I didn’t check the price of the Timbren. I’m wondering if it would be a good option if one had to replace one or both axles? In a perfect trailer suspension world...a Timbren system with disc brakes?

After a little more research I have found that the Timbren system is more difficult to install and requires some fabrication and wielding. The Liberty Rider is not as sophisticated but is much easier to install. Rumor has it that Forest River will be using the Liberty Rider system in the near future.

I've been considering the Timbren for our 5er. Its 10,000lb GVW with two 4400lb axles. I was looking at the 5200lb Timbrens 750.00 a set and can bolt on or weld. We just bought this 5er and was surprised to see axles that could only handle the unloaded weight of 8600lbs. Would also like to hear from some folks who have these upgrades.

IRV2, if you figure in your pin weight of probably 1400 pounds or so (est) that is probably what your cargo capacity is. 8800 is what it is rated to weigh at the most so that is the reason for those axles. Granted, your RV is right at the limit, but so are most things built into your rig.

IMO, if you're going to $3k+ on a suspension then get the MorRyde IS, it's truly independent suspension, no solid axles, no air bags to inflats/deflate & they weigh your rv prior to installation & build system accordingly, once completed there's 4 grease zerks to grease a couple times a year, warranteed for life.

X2...tandem axle would be around $6000 for 8K axles with disc brakes!
They quoted me $8750 for 8K axles and disc brakes for a tri-axle installed before tax.

The Timbren is around $1,500.00 installed and the Liberty Rider around $1,000.00.
Not independent like the Morride but substantially better than stock.
