Just starting in Central Pa

Hello, everyone. My wife and I recently purchased our first travel trailer, a Cougar 30RLS. My tow vehicle is a 2012 Toyota Tundra. I'm hoping to learn a few things on this forum, and, maybe, not look like a total fool ( although I should be used to that by now ).

If you've made a fool out of yourself once in a while, you've come to the right place Welcome to the forum and hopefully we can help you when you need some advice.

We have lots of experienced RV'ers here who are most willing to lend a hand plus one or two fools who are here simply to add some light-hearted humour.

Interesting user name ----- is there a story here?

I've done "foolish" many times.
My first one was scraping my brand new 318SAB on a post when bringing it home from the dealer.

Oh well. Stuff happens!

Welcome to the band of fools!!

From past experience if you don't look like a fool every once and while your life must be pretty dull. Live life to the fullest and at least give something new a try ever once and awhile. Half the fun is not knowing how things are going to turn out sometime. We all need a good laugh with a cold one around the camp fire ever now and then. So go have fun just one reguirement you have to share. Praise the lord and past the ammuntion

Oh good then (about being a fool) because two weeks ago I was really one. We were at the camp ground waiting to do the dump of water and I was talking to these people in a motor home in front of us. Then the BF pulled up and there was this truck that was like ours beind us with a fifth wheel. As the BF was dumping I didn't see my dog so I went to the truck to see her and didn't! So I opened the door to look on the floor.........as this man said "you have the wrong truck, that is ours!". I looked at him and looked at the truck and my bf was just standing there looking at me with a puzzled look. I said "well heck I had to walk behind us to get to it before, I just kept doing it." So as we were leaving I looked at the owner of the other truck and your lucky day, I won't steal it. I know I hadn't slept but geezzzzzzzzzzz.

Lol that has to earn some kind of award. We could start a monthly prise for the most embarassing thing someone has done. How about something like " I will drink to that award"?

What was funny was the look on the wifes face and then she says, I figured you wouldn't get far, we are blocked in....yeah, that was a fool moment for sure! So boalburg, welcome and don't worry about it, it will happen at the worse times! I know it keeps me humble.

My hubby has 25 years plus experience as an over the road trucker. First time heading out with our new rig he tries to swat a fly while driving. Well.....the right rear end of the rig hit the cement wall on the highway rubbing off a good sized amount of the fiberglass. Oh well. He told everyone that we got a good deal on the rig due to the damage lol. Anyone know how to get it fixed real cheap?

Thanks for the warm welcome, all. Festus2, Boalsburg is the town I live in. As for the pighead part, it's an old joke. My real name is Ed. A friend of mine once called me Big Ed. Someone who overheard thought he said pighead, and, well, the name seems to have stuck. As for the tales of woe and misadventure everyone shared, Thank you very much. It helps to know that even people who seem so experienced as you folks do to someone like me, started out making some silly mistakes. Finally, Pa5er, I only live about 5 miles from the fair, so I don't know if camping there will be something I do in the future, or not. Being new to all of this, it just seems like there's more places I want to go, every time I pick up a magazine.
