Strip coming off bottom of slide

Has anyone had this happen on the bottom of their slide? Is it a symptom of water damage?

Check the wood to see if it is rotted or just stripped where the screws came out. If the wood is good and no other sign of water damage then stick some toothpicks in the hole and screw the trim back in and seal it all up. It could be the trim just caught on something. Good luck.

Yep, hopefully there is no water penetration. If it's like many screws on an RV they may have been overtightened and stripped out allowing the trim to come off...or they could have come loose and just need re-tightening. In that case it's just a matter of re-setting the screws and add some sealant. The trim could have caught on something and pulled loose and the remedy would be the same (it doesn't really look like that), it could have come loose some time ago and water has gotten to the wood and ruined it putting you in a different pickle, or, there could have been water penetrating under it into the wood and it finally rotted enough to let go of the screws (let's hope not). Check the wood under the strip and see where you're at. Hopefully it will just be a minor fix.

OR, it's not a wood issue at all and it's back to the stripped screws letting go from some other material. I've had countless metal to metal screws stripped out. If that's the case you may need to pull the strip, see what's what then drill new holes and seal the old. Just lots of stuff to look at Good luck.

I had a mobile Rv repair guy at my house to repair some things and he also noticed my strips coming loose . He said he repairs a lot of them.
