A/C unit in bedroom

Hi

Ok now we have had our Impact 311 out for 2 trips. When we run the furnace set at 68 (in western Washington so not major cold) the unit in the bedroom runs all of the time. Is this normal. It is loud and difficult to sleep with.

Thanks for any advice.

Kim

Mine bedroom is not hooked to thermostat

I have one that was put in after the fact. It is manual so it runs all the time. I use it to get cool and then shut it off. Blow a fan from the living area up to bedroom. Hope this helps

AC or Furnace?

The OP title is "AC" (cooling) but the discussion is "furnace" (heating). Are you saying the bedroom AC runs when you are trying to heat the trailer?

Our 2018 Raptor 353TS has AC units that will also act as heat pumps and supply supplemental heat while running the furnace. Could this be your issue? If so, make sure the thermostat zone control for the bedroom is not set to also run the AC unit as a heater.

Just a thought...

I think you mean the other way around, set the fan to auto.

Sorry I dont mean to hijack the post but have a question related to the heater and AC assist. We recently bought a 2018 428SP. The dealer told us the AC had a heat strip and would act as a heater. How does this work? Does the gas furnace have priority and only when it can not keep up or to speed things alone the AC kicks in? Or does it run at same time? Is there a way to set it to only run heat from the AC allowing you to conserve propane?

On our Raptor, when setting the zone control for units that will either cool or heat, when you set the zone you get your choice of “heat - elect” or “heat -gas”. You can only pick one. No way to use both. My understanding is these Coleman units will run as a heat pump - not an electric heating strip. We have not had a chance to test these yet - it is 107 in Tucson today. So we have no idea if these even work or how well that might work.
