TPMS in Lexus
Ok, Full disclosure I am NOT familiar with the new (2007 Mandated) TPMS systems on cars/trucks. We just upgraded from a 2004 Honda accord and 2005 Mercury Mariner to a 2016 Kia Soul and a 2009 Lexus RX350.
NO issues with the Kia, but the Lexus is a different story. When the DW bought it she was all gaga that they put a new set of tires TPMS light came on in 2 days. She took it back and they did something and it stayed off for another week. Door pillar tire placard states 30 PSI, Tire sidewall states max inflation is 46 PSI.
I know mileage is better at 46 than 30, but can any TPMS guru give me a high school lesson on this stuff. I have read a lot and I know about checking battery level and such. Looking at buying the AUTEL TS501 as it will work on most all tpms systems.
My real question is how can I determine what the PCM/BCM says the pressure should be and can I CHANGE it?
