Crystal River, FL

Has anyone ever stayed at the Quail Roost RV Park in Crystal River? Just curious because I reserved November there. I had read about Rock Crusher and called them but was told it was a $500 deposit; $200 cancellation outside of 45 days and within 45 days - no refund; I told her....well, I'm scheduled for surgery soon and have no idea about the rehab so I'm not willing to just give $500 down to potentially give away. Enter Quail Roost. Saw some good reviews on it, talked to them and they seemed very nice. She said the sites were back in and I told her I had a 38' bumper pull - did they have room? She said yes. Looked at the satellite view and the little roads between rows sure looked skinny so guess we'll see.

These guys just wanted a $200 deposit refundable less a $25 fee. We were going to stay in Cedar Key but it is the furthest point north of the places we wanted to look around in. Lots of folks on the "other side" where we spend the rest of the winter really like Cedar Key for fishing and thought we would stay there. This way we can get to all the points we are interested in before moving back to the panhandle.

Just curious if anyone had experience there. I'm going to call to once again to verify there is room to kick the trailer into a slot but anyone that has been there would be far more helpful I figure. Thanks.

Sorry, Danny, we have styed at Crystal Isles in Crystal River numerous times but not Quail Roost. We really like the area until about the end of December.....then it's too cold for old beach goers!

Ha! We like to have some cool weather. Warm all the time in FL usually means summer is HOT! Weather down to 40's/50's is really good for us and when we hit a day or 2 down in the 30's - it feels like home...and it's warmer, generally, than back in TX.. a bit. I understand further south...I always thought that is what we would like but now we're sort of middle road - a little cold, a little warm...jacket, T shirt... Guess I spent too much time in the mountains enjoying snow up to your knees!!!
